Alter Knit - the store, was born on October 3rd 2007 @ 36 Princes St, Port Glasgow, when a life long dream came true for the owner- Agnes. A little while later, the stores baby brother Alter Knit - Online was created by her slightly more tech savvy son, Allan. They run a friendly (very chatty) family business and there is always a kettle brewin' and a sofa to be sat on.

We have had great success and support from the local community and are now trying to bring a little tradition to the world wide web.

Now to the business bit. We are able to take orders online through our secure web-store, or if you aren't as tech savvy as you would like, simply give us a call on 01475 745559 during opening hours and we will be happy to lend an ear. Failing that, if you want to feel some of our wonderfully soft wools or pop in for a chat, dont hesitate to drop by the store AND REMEMBER FREE POSTAGE ON ALL UK ORDERS OVER £15 (redeemed after payment because i cant separate uk and european orders for free postage, Allan)

Exactly as it says in the title, come on in, have a chat and a cup of tea and knit to your hearts content. If you finish your project early at least theres no danger you'll run out of wool in the shop.
